Robert L .Chaney, Sr.

Bob has served as Publisher of The Douglas County Mail for seven years. He assumed the duties of Editor in 2006 with the retirement of Steve Wicker. Before taking over as Publisher he served as Managing Editor of The Newport Miner and Gem State Miner newspapers based in Newport, Washington.

He has a long history in the industry dating back to his days in college. He has won numerous awards through the Society of Professional Journalists and Washington Newspapers Publishers Association’s Better Newspaper Contest.

Along with coming through the ranks of the newspaper business on the editorial side he also has several years of experience in Advertising and Public Relations having operated his own agency.
